June 2016

The June exam will cover the following chapters and sections in the textbook.

Chapter 12 Coordinate Geometry

Chapter 14 Equations of Lines
Chapter 7 Simultaneous Equations
Chapter 16 Algebraic Fractions
Chapter 19 Functions
Chapter 23 Inverse Functions
Chapter 21 Quadratic Functions

All sections

sections A-D
sections B-D
section B
sections A-J

The exam will have 2 parts plus bonus questions. The parts will be as follows:
Multiple choice
Short answer questions
The multiple choice questions are worth 2 points each. In order to answer most of these questions
you will need to do some working, but you are not required to show any of your working, nor will
it be counted toward your score in this section. The only answer that will be counted is the one
you put on your answer sheet.
The short answer questions are worth 2 - 5 points each. You are required to show working for
these questions. Your working must be neatly done, clear and logical.
The bonus questions are optional and it is possible to earn a perfect score without attempting
them. However, as there is no penalty for errors on these questions you have nothing to lose by
attempting them.

You will need to bring the following items to the exam session: pencils (a sharpener or extra lead
is a good idea), eraser, ruler and a graphing calculator. You will not be able to share any of these
items during the exam, nor will the proctor have a supply of them. You should also be prepared
with a water bottle and tissues as you will not be able to leave the exam room during the exam
session.

In order to prepare for the exam so you can do your best, I suggest you do the following:
1) Rework your class tests.
2) Complete the practice packets given out in class.
3) You could also work through the appropriate review exercises from your book.
4) The last 2 classes before 10 June will be devoted to review. You can ask questions about the
packets, the review exercises in the book, your old tests, etc. If you have additional questions or
want to do more practice be sure to see me for extra help.

The following formulas will be given to you on the exam. Anything not in this list must be
memorized.

Review exercises from the book

Since there are so many of them, it would be a good idea to concentrate on all the B reviews and do the
