Topic: I taught my lesson on area and perimeter and had them do an activity to test
their knowledge and so I thought it was just a good chance to use their activity for
my bulletin board
Grade Level: 1st grade
Description: I loved the robot they made and I wanted to showcase some of them.
Most of them really grasped my lesson and I could see this in their work. Now Im a
perfectionist so when it came time to make the bulletin board I wanted to make it
look nice. The bulletin boards at brook school need to be student made so I have
theirs up, but I wanted to include my own robot to make it look a little more fun and
I got a suggestion from one of my kids to add hair to my robot so I did.
Materials used: paper for the background, border, letter for my title, paper for my
robot/ their robots, graph paper, colored pencils/ crayons

How it related to the curriculum: this was one of the standards that Mrs.
Johnson needs to hit before the year ends. It just seemed the best idea to have this
lesson as my lesson plan instead of making up my own lesson that would have
nothing to do with what they needed to learn.
