Implementation Checklist

Did the interviewer greet the family, then review the purpose for
meetings? (i.e. get to know the family and describe daily routines)
Did the interviewer ask if the family had any major questions before
beginning the interview?
Did the interview have good conversational flow?
Did the interviewer ask follow-up questions to gain better
understanding? (i.e. related to engagement, independence and
social relationships of the child)
Did the interviewer maintain focus on the conversation?
Were open-ended questions used to gain understanding of the
routine?
Did the interviewer find out what people in the family, other than
the child, are doing in each routine?
Did the interviewer find out how satisfied the family is with each
routine? (i.e. description and/or rating)
Did the interviewer use good affect and affirming behaviors? (i.e.
facial expressions, tone, nodding, positive comments)
Did the interviewer use active listening techniques? (i.e. rephrasing,
summarizing and asking for clarification)
Did the interviewer avoid giving advice?
Did the interviewer use the term time of day instead of routine?
Did the interviewer ask what concerns the family would like to
address?
Did the interviewer ask the family to put outcomes of therapy into a
priority order for importance?
