The Individual in Society
When it comes to people choosing song that they like or how it
represents them as a person, people choose from a variety of songs as every
person has a different music taste. Also, they have different qualities that
represent them through the lyrics. The song that I chose was a song called
the Fight Song by Rachel Platten. This song was just recently released. This
song embodies who I am because sometimes I give up and I also look back
on what I did and think about what I could have done differently or better. In
the song, it says Like a small boat on the ocean, sending big waves into
motion (1-4). This means that a small action can make a big difference. This
quote is significant to me because I usually look back in my life and see how
something so little made such a big difference. In addition, in the song it says
wrecking balls inside my brain (10). This quote means that in this song,
Platten was reflecting on how she could have done something in her life in a
different way. This quote is also important because I usually am thinking
constantly about the past. Furthermore, a lyric in the song says I miss my
home (26). This quote means that Platten misses her past. This quote

represents who I am because I really miss my past like old memories, middle
school, and traveling. In conclusion, I chose the Flight Song by Rachel
Platten because every day is a new day and so there are different battles to
fight each day.
