CAS requirement?
Basketball has been one of my most passionate things during junior and senior high school. I
have enjoyed playing it as a hobby and also as a sport. It is really important for me to be a
part of the team because basketball has somehow given me a lot of confidence. So this is one
of the important sport that I play whole heartedly.
Learning Outcomes:

Increase my awareness of my strengths and areas of growthThrough basketball and having the experience of being a captain and having a team
whos very honest to me helps me realize that I do have mu strengths and weaknesses.
For instance, I have good leadership that is why I was assigned as captain, however, I
found out that sometimes I tend to take things easily, which is not good because then I
am underestimating.
Work collaborative with othersCooperation is another thing that is needed in basketball. Basketball is not a one-man
show, it requires the team to pass on the ball and finally put it in the hoop. Not
everyone can cooperate easily, by having a team you force yourself to work with others
including with the coach.
Showing commitmentIn basketball, you need to commit to the game and the practices. You cannot be good
at something without practicing. This is a really tiring sport, as you have to run from
one end of the court to another. Without commitment and preservation, you will be lazy
doing it as it is not fun to push yourself over when you are tired, however its whatll
make you better.
Develop new skillsBasketball will help me gain new skills such as ball control and leadership. It will also
teach me how to read situations so that I will make right decisions on court without
jeopardizing the team from doing their best to win the game. It really takes a whole lot
concentration to run, dribble the ball and make decisions of what will you do next.
