    What should you bring?
    Shovel, pickaxe, clothes, farming equipment, food, household
    items, tools, books, farm animals, money, and shoes.

    CATTLE

    Native Americans used buffalos for everything until whites started
    killing them and using them for food etc. Since buffalo had
    disappeared horses and cattle became a good use for them.

    Gold and Land


    Since there was gold in California the gold fever never died out. In 1858, gold
    was discovered in Colorado.The land of the west is a great attraction. The
    government lured families into wanting to farm that land.

    What to avoid?
    Please make sure to be very careful. Avoid horse thieves, and bandits. There is
    drought in the Great Plains. There is no water so avoid sharing. There was a blizzard
    it got to 68 degrees below zero. Ranchers lost 40 to 90 percent of their livestock.
