The Legislative Branch is made up of two houses of Congress The House of Representatives, and the Senate. Congress convenes in the
State House in Washington D.C.
The Senate is comprised of 100 Senators, two from each state, elected by their states
for six-year terms. The head of the Senate is the considered to be the Vice President
of the U.S. The VP does not vote in the Senate unless there is a tie!
The House of Representatives is comprised of 435 representatives. The number of
representatives per state is based on the states population. Representatives serve two
terms. The Speaker of the House, who is elected by the representatives, is considered
to be the head of the House.
