HOW DID THIS WAR START?

All of his work gradually vanished from the walls and trains of London accept
for this piece. (see the picture above) It was painted in 1985 on a barely
accessible spot, it became Londons oldest piece of graffiti and a testament to
Robbos legendary status.

A tag is an artists trade mark. (his signature) Doing this kept him away from
drugs and drinking. It was a rush to keep away from the police. His tags were
on almost every train in the city, he was the graffiti king. But at the height of
his game he retired.
King Robbo, is an international graffiti legend who has kept his identity secret
from the authorities for over 25 years. He was a founding father of the British
graffiti scene. He achieved most respect during the eighties when his tag
appeared all over Londons trains and underground system.
Even though Robbo was retired, a lot of new artists looked up to him. But then
one night he met a young artist from Bristol called Banksy. When Robbo was
introduced to Banksy, Robbo said to Banksy: I have heard of you.
Banksy replied: Well I have not heard from you!. Robbo was so angry and
disrespected, he hit Banksy in the face. Robbo said: You wont forget me
now!. This was the start of the graffiti war.
