4. Introduction
This is the third evaluation report on Kayla Mutch. Two comprehensive reports, dated 2015/12/23 and
2016/03/21 constitute the initial evaluation and second evalvations of Kayla Mutch.
2. Changes and Growth Throughout the Year
Kayla began the school year at St. Patrick Catholic as a second year teacher coming in from St. Thomas
More Catholic school in Fairview. She began the school year with a straight grade 6 class that had a variety
of student learning needs. Kayla had identified with me some concems she had about her class and year at
St. Thomas More the previous year regarding classroom management issues and so we together,
Considering the group of students she had this year, worked out a plan to provide monitoring, support and
success.
‘After | had completed my first round of observations, | pointed out to Kayla that her work in careful and
Strategic lesson planning had gone a long way into providing for a class that had litle classroom disruption
‘and was well organized and focused on student learning. Kayia's attention to students with specific learning
needs in her IPP's provided great accommodation for the students who would have been otherwise
cisruptive and helped Kayla maintain a positive and successful learning environment. My primary concern
was that | had not yet seen much evidence of any cross-curricular teaching and/or evidence of career long
teaming. | talked with Kayla about these areas and suggested to her persons and places of information that
@ ray heip her to grow in these areas.

Kayla immediately began to search out these areas, including enlisting the help of Christie Watson from our
district office. By the lime | had completed my second round of observations, my concems were alleviated
and Kayla had demonstrated in her planning and work in two classes in particular (LA- writing and Art) that
she understood the KSA's I was concemed about and now had mastered.
Great work Kayla, | believe you will become a very successful teacher in our district
3. Areas for Continued Growth and Development
Over the course of the next few years, as a suggestion io continue to grow and improve in your teaching
practice, | would suggest you fook into the areas of both team teaching and project based learning. You
have a willingness to work and collaborate well with other teachers and a desire to master your teaching
craft, both are qualities | admire you for and | appreciate you already working towards. All the best in your
teaching career, I believe you will do very well Kayla,
