Party History

The Conservative Party of Canada was formed in 1834.


Sir John A. Macdonald was the first leader of the Conservative Party in
1867-1878.
After the death of the Sir John A. Macdonald in 1891, the Conservatives
had a hard fall and werent ready for the tragedy.
In 2006 Stephen Harper became the PM of Canada
1974 Robert Stanfield lost PM to Pierre trudeau
Sept 17 1984 Brian Mulroney came PM and got 211 out of 251 seat

Party leaders

Sir John A. Macdonald was the first leader of Progressive Conservatives.


Sir John Abbott was the second leader of the Conservatives.
Sir John Sparrow David Thompson was the third head leader of the Conservatives.
Sir Mackenzie Bowell was the fourth leader and Sir Charles Tupper was the fifth
leader of the conservativis.
Sir Robert Borden was the sixth leader and Arthur Meighen was the seventh leader
of the conservatives.

Party Beliefs

On October 16th 2003 the leaders of the conservative party reform their
alliance and announced an agreement in principle to unite under a new
politics banner.

Positives

The positives about the conservatives is that they are cutting income taxes
and they are giving jobs to over 1.7 million people so we can get jobs and live a
happy life.
Stephen Harper aims to get over 700,000 new house owners because he wants
people to have a shelter to live in.
The conservative party is helping kids get better education because they want
kids to move on with life and give them good jobs.
Stephen Harper is introducing a family tax cut to couples with kids under 18
years old to split 50,000 of income; caps non-refundable benefits of 2,000
dollars.

Negatives

In spring 2011 a federal court found that harper and the conservatives
willfully violated the 18.3 million election spending the limit during
elections.
Stephen Harper never kept the promise of cutting 1.8 billion in federal
subsidies given to oil companies.
In late 2010, public servants confirmed that Stephen Harper has indeed
renamed The Government Of Canada to The Harper Government.
