Present perfect: An action that happened at an

unspecified time.
I havent eaten at McDonalds for ages.

Simple past: An action that began and ended at a


particular time in the past.
Oh, but didnt I see you there yesterday?
SINCE: Shows an undefined period of time or how long an action has
been taking place. It marks the begining of that period of time.
I havent cleaned my room since Monday.
FOR: Shows and specific period of time.
I havent cleaned my room for 5 days
