CHAPTER - 9 : FUTURE SCOPE :

Due to diminishing supply of fossil fuels and the environmental pollution biodiesels
are gaining more interest as alternative fuels. Calophyllum Inophyllum oil can be
transesterified and being considered as potential biodiesel feed stocks for future.
The improvement in fuel economy, brake thermal efficiency, at full load and
optimum engine working conditions was observed. Also, it has shown reduction in exhaust
emission as compared to diesel. Biodiesel from Calophyllum Inophyllum oil is still in a
nascent state.

Research concerning properties such as the thermal and oxidative stability, is required.
Issue such as biodegradability, cytoxicity, carcinogenic, and microbial stability
investigation is required to the depth.
The effect of the acid number of the biodiesel is not completely understood. It is found
that the acid number impacts material compatibility, storage, handling, and the smell
of the biodiesel.
The emission and performance of engine must be optimized by changing injection
pressure and injection timing.
The effect of use of nano-particles in biodiesel required to be study deeply.
For the continued use of biodiesel at higher blends, the modification is required in the
engine fuel supply system and injection system.
The effect on engine and its parts on account of long term use of biodiesel, required to
be studied.
