andhistory(seeIrishPotatoFamine).Ithasalotofcarbohydrates,whichmaynotbeofextreme

benefittoplacesliketheUSwherealotofthepopulationisoverweight,butisveryvaluablein
developingcountrieswherecaloricintakeislimited.Yourlastpointaddressesthisconcern.You

(andwhatdoyoumeanbythicker)andthatthickerplantsmeansweatherresistant?Doesactin
haveanyspecialaminoacidsthatweneed?Doesithaveanyrareaminoacidsthataren'tfound
inalotoffruitsorvegetables?Thisisparticularlyimportanttoveganandvegetarianpeoplesince
individualtypesofplantsonlycontainafewoftheessentialaminoacids,whereasmeatoreggs
containsallofthem.That'swhytheyhavetobecarefultoeatawidevarietyofplantstogetallof
theaminoacidstheyneed.Youmentionitbriefly,sothisisjustfoodforthought.
