WWII Reflection
World War two was the result of two things. One was the bombing of Pearl Harbor
by the Japanese and the other was because Germany attacked Poland. When pearl Harbor
was bombed, the japanese were greatly affected and sent to internment camps where they
were kept. Many japanese men who participated in the army were brought down to lower
rankings and non weapon operated parts so that the other men felt safer. When World War
Two Began women had to take over jobs of men this meant women would be working in
the factories and other hard labor jobs that men usually had. In the midst of world war II,
Roise The Riveter (propaganda poster) was a very significant figure for women at the
time showing that they could do just as well as men in the jobs owned by the men at war.
During the war, many things had to be rationed in order to provide the military with the
things that they needed to survive in the war. Some things that were rationed were;
Leather, metal, red meats and more. Even kids played a part because instead of playing
around everyday, they went door to door collecting scraps of metal for the government to
make use of it and turn those metal scraps into weapons. People had to learn to live
without some of these things so that the men/ women could have these supplies at war.
One alliance was the Axis powers alliance which was an alliance between Italy, and
Japan. Another alliance was between Great Britain, Soviet Union, United States of
America and France also known as the Allied powers.
