a. What are they fighting about this time?
4. Tuesday February 2 - The mother of the slain 13 year old girl is on trial against
the two who supposedly did it.
a. Why did they kill that girl?
5. Wednesday February 3 - Refugees protect themselves from the rain in Belgium
a. Don't they have anywhere to stay?

1. Wednesday February 17 - Firefighters are at the scene of an explosion in Turkey.
The explosion hit 3 military vehicles and 1 private vehicle.
a. Why were they targeted?
2. Wednesday February 17 - Security guards run alongside pope francis near a
border fence in mexico.
a. Why does he need so many security guards?
3. Sunday February 14 - Workers are rescuing a girl from the rubble after airstrikes
in Syria.
a. Where are the bombs coming from?
4. Wednesday February 17 - A man was executed and his mother and a close
family friend are seen hugging in the photo.
a. Why he was executed?
5. Monday February 15 - A man gestures after seeing a dead protester in uganda,
violence broke out ahead of the presidential election

other immigrants.

after several shootings. The gunman shot random people in a 5 hour time period

died in the blast and police are still investigating how it happened.

1. Tuesday March 22 - Two wounded women sit in an airport after a bombing took
place in Belgium. A subway train was also targeted for the terrorist attacks.
a. What was the point of the bombing?
2. Sunday March 20 - Rescuers try to revive an unconscious man who arrived in a
dingy with other migrants escaping Syria.
a. How did he become this way? What happened to him?
3. Sunday March 20 - Riot police detain a pro-Kurdish demonstration in istanbul.
a. Why did he have to be detained?
4. Wednesday March 23 - A runaway zebra is shot with tranquilizer darts on a golf
course in japan. The zebra then ran into a pond and died.
a. How did the zebra escape a zoo?
5. Monday March 21 - Police in indonesia display tiger fur and bones which would
have a black market value of around $10,000. The tigers are an endangered species
that suffers the most from poachers.
a. If people know they are endangered then why do they still kill

fallen overpass in india.

painted cars in london. The cars are said to belong to a saudi man.

1. Sunday April 10 - 3 castaways made a help sign out of palm fronds to attract
attention. They had been stranded on an island 2,600 miles southwest of honolulu.

2. Monday April 11 - A man uses a garden hose to wet the side of his house as a
warehouse fire rages behind him.
a. I wonder how the fire started
3. Friday April 15 - A magnitude 6.2 earthquake hit japan and people are walking
through the wreckage.
a. Why are there so many earthquakes in japan?

4. Sunday April 10 - NASAs only remaining external tank is being transported to a


dock in New Orleans. The tank is going to the LA science center.
a. Is it going to be on display there?
5. Wednesday April 13 - Suspects of wire fraud are being guarded on a plane that is
going to land in Beijing china.

1. Sunday April 17 - Self Defence forces personnel and other rescue workers look
for survivors after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake hit japan. It was more powerful than the
foreshock that hit two days earlier.
a. How do you determine the magnitude of the earthquake?
2. Sunday April 17 - Migrants ask for help to get off of a dingy boat off of the coast
of an italian island.
a. Where are they coming from?
3. Monday April 18 - Locals cover their mouths and noses to avoid breathing in the
ash from a nearby volcano that erupted in San Andres Cholula, Mexico.
a. What caused the volcano to erupt?
4. Residents look at the rift in a freeway created by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. It
was the strongest earthquake to hit ecuador and toppled buildings.
a. Is there ny way to prevent earthquakes?
5. A photo of an elevator that stretches from tijuana to san diego. More than a half

in a reported airstrike Aleppo Syria. A least 150 people have died in Aleppo in a 6 day
period.
a. Why are they getting attacked? Who is attacking them?
2. Wednesday April 27 - Beyonce who is center for the photo performs in Miami
during the first stop of the Formation World Tour. Her fans are still dissecting her new
visual album lemonade.
a. For her new album I wonder who she is talking about, did her
husband cheat on her?
3. Tuesday April 26 - A woman and boy walk past a dead whale carcass that
washed up on the beach 2 days earlier.
a. How did the whale die?
b. What are they going to do with it?
4. Saturday April 22 - A norwegian supply ship off the coast of Bermuda found a
single engine vessel that was manned by two florida teens who went missing last
summer.
a. Where did the ship go for almost a year? Where are the teens
now?
5. Tuesday April 26 - Fire and rescue personnel look at an overturned truck in
Freeport, Maine. No one was hurt in this accident.

1. Saturday may 7 - Children are crying after a rocket struck close to their home in
Turkey. They live near the Syrian border and has become a target recently.
a. I wonder why they are targeting Turkey too. Did Turkey get
involved?
2. Wednesday may 11 - A car bomb went off in Baghdad Iraq in a public market
killing 90 people. Isis claimed responsibility for the attack targeting Shiites.
a. I wonder why Isis could target them specifically? Why did they
attack?
3. Wednesday may 11 - A child looks up at the camera while he is passing through
the only way through the border of Egypt and Gaza. The border was is open for 2 days.
a. Why is the border only open for 2 days?
4. Wednesday may 11 - Members of the media try to listen through cracks while the
trial of a man who killed 3 people at a planned parenthood clinic. He was ruled to be
mentally incompetent.
a. What determines you to be mentally incompetent?
5. Sunday may 8 - An injured man is being treated in Afghanistan after two cars
collided with a semi on the freeway. More than 70 people died in the crash.
a. How did so many people die?
