CITY OF EMBER
Although Doon did not find anything important, he did find some interesting things in
the library. He discovered a collection called Mysterious Words for the Past. In this
book he read about the meaning of sayings such as:
Heaven's above
Hogwash
Batting a thousand
All in the same boat
Keep in mind, Doon has never heard of heaven or seen a pig or a baseball game or a
boat. Therefore, he must be very confused by these sayings and their meanings!
