This document provides corrosion resistance information for various materials when exposed to a 1.5-2% solution of lactic acid and sodium chloride at varying temperatures. Stainless steels with higher chromium content such as 13% Cr-steel, 17% Cr-steel, and 18-2 showed better corrosion resistance with no pitting observed up to 2°C compared to carbon steel which exhibited pitting at 2°C. Nickel-based alloys including Hastelloy C-22, Inconel 625, and Monel showed the best corrosion resistance with no pitting observed at all temperatures listed.
