DeportationhasbeenawidelycontroversialissueintheUnitedStatessincethe
beginningofthefoundingsofournation.Conversely,intherecentdecadesdeportation
hastakenonadifferentform,aformthathasgrowntoolargeandcompletely
unattainable.Thosecurrentlygoingthroughthedeportationprocesshavealackofrights
andbasiccitizenprivilege.Inrelation,thelackofcitizenprivilegerevealsthebigger
castingofracialprofilingasanactofsocialcontrol.Inturn,furtherrevealingthelackof
respectandalienprivilegethatdeporteesarebeingheldtoo.AsDanielKanstroom
illustratesin

)showthefallaciesinthesaidalienrights
thathavebeengiven.Thelackofrightsandclearguidelinesinregardstononcitizens
havenoConstitutionalbackinganddisregardthenatureofallhumansalike.
Manyillegalimmigrantswhoareaffectedbydeportationlawaregoodbystanding
citizenswhohaveconnectionstothecommunityandfamilies.thereforetheharshnon

InKanstroompieceshetouchesonthefactthatmanyoftheissuesinregardto
deportation,especiallyinregardstothoseofcolorareusedasavehicleforsocialcontrol.
DeportationlawintheUnitedStatesrunsundertheassumptionthatallillegalimmigrants
orthosewithreasonabledoubtareathreattoAmericansocietyandshouldbesearched,
detained,anddeportedbacktotheirorigins.Thegovernmentusesdeportationasawayto
fenceoffcriminalacts.ThistacticbeingverysimilartothestoryofRamiinHowDoes
itFeeltobeaProblem?,conveyingtheverystrategyofthepostentrycontrol.
Oneofthetermsthatareappliedconstantlyisaliensandcriminals.These
termsvalidatedtheissuesthatKanstroomandBayoumiwerebothdiscussing.Inthe
pursuitofcriminalizing,thesubjectionofimmigrantsistakentothelevelofalien
treatment.Alientreatmentthatincludesabuseofpower,confinedspaces,emotional
andphysicalabuse,etc(Bayoumi).Thefoundationthatisservedvaluesimmigrants,
peopleofcolor,ascriminals.Afacetofracialprofilingandthecontrollingofsociety.
Theoutofsight,outofmind(19)responsethattheUnitedStateshasisthepushing
forceofintensifiedbordercontrolandsocialcontrol.Thequickerthecriminalsarerid
ofthequickerourcrimeproblemisnolongeranissue.

Whensubjectingimmigrants,humans,tothe
postentrysocialcontrol
and
extendedbordercontrolw
esubjectthemtolawsthatarenotConstitutional,oronany
grounds,morallyorlegallycorrect.Addressingtheissue,addressesthelackofrightsand
thefailedsystemthathasbeensetintoplace.In
bordercontrol,
Governmentofficialsare
allowedtodecidewhetherapersonisinadmissible,demandsdirectreturningto
whateverplacetheiroriginis,andselectedpoweroverbanning(14).Allwhich,these
issueshavenoConstitutionalgroundanddemoralizesthepersonandthesaidrights
thatcitizensoftheU.Shave.Thequestionthatisposedbybothreadersaskswhatarethe
rightsthatimmigrantshave?Isthereasetformofupdatedguidelinesthatprotectthe
peoplewhoaretakingsuchhugerisks?
Manypeoplewhoaregoingtotheseextremelengthsandevenmakeitoverthe
borderandplaybythebooksarestillatriskofdeportation,likethatofRashaandRami.
Atanytimeyoucanbesubjectedtoharshtreatment,arrest,criminalcharges,andsoon.
Evenifyoulivewithinthelinesandabidebutalllawsthataresetforthyoucanstillbe
treatedasifyoudonnothavesuchrights.

reflectionoftheirsurroundingsandthedifferenttypeofpeopletheyarelockedaway
with,thatthejailsanddetentionsareanotherformofpestcontrol.InRashasstoryher
familywassentawaywithlittletonoexplanationandwhileinholdingthefriendsand
familyontheoutsidehadlittlecontactwiththem.ThisinrelationwithKanstroom
argumentsupportsthefactthatmanyofthesepeoplewhoaresentawaylikesuchare
supposedtobeforgotten.Itisanothersanctionintoobscurityandforgottenterritory.A
waytoreformandremovethepeoplethatthegovernmentbelieveshouldnotbehere.
Inbothofthesearticlesthemainaddressistheissueofdeportationand
deportationfeartactics.Kanstroomaddressestheissuesofdeportationandthepostentry
effectsandtheoverheadcontrolithasoverimmigrantsandBayoumiusestheviewpoint
ofimmigrantsandtheirimmigrantstatus,inthesetwodifferentviewsyouseehow
postentrycontrolisanoverwhelmingcontrolfactorintheirlives.Inexamplesgivenby
bothauthorsmostofthecitizensthataretargetedareregulareverydaypatronsliving
respectfullyinsidesociety.Eventhoughthesepeoplelivewithintheguidelinestheyare
stilltreatedaslessandarethreatenedandtakenawayfromtheirlives.Infearof
deportationmanyofthemendupshelteringawayorareputintotheconcentrationlike
facilities.
Theformoftreatmentthattheseindividualsfaceisunjustandhavenosanctionin
formalityorguidelineandbecauseofthatthosewhoareatthereceivingendaretreated

worsethancommoncriminals.Withnoguidelinessetinplaceandthevirtualfreereign
deportationofficersaregiventhecommonrightsofthesepeoplearequestioned.Both
authorsappropriatelyapproachthesubjectandbringlighttotheforevergrowingproblem
ofimmigrantdeportationandthemisguidedrulingsthatarehappeningeveryday.Thereis
noConstitutionaloutlinetofollowandbecauseofthatthosewhofallintoimmigrant
categoriesareturningintoadangerousgamethatendsinmuchmisfortuneforthem.
