SYNOPSIS

Human Resources or Human Capital is the most important factors of production for any
organisation. One of the most important tasks of any employer is to keep their
employees happy and retained for the successful running of the business. This study
focuses on the factors which can keep the employees happy and retained in the
organisation. This study involves developing an easy to understand policies, present in
the organisation and designing strategies to communicate them to the employees to
create awareness. This report is a result of a rigorous study involving qualitative
research through which the level of understanding among the employees regarding the
policies is gauged, giving an opportunity to identify the gaps and finally make
suggestions to fill the gap.

Qualitative Research as part of this report involves a deep understanding of the existing
policies through literature available, comparative study of records available, studying
the historical data, interviewing a sample section of employees etc. Researching through
these methods reveals the target audiences behavior and perception which helps in
identifying the gaps and filling them.

Policies in any company are a standard set of various principles , rules & regulations to
guide the employees so as to achieve rational outcomes with a systematic approach It
makes work of both Employee & Employer simple & enables the organisation to run
smoothly.

It was observed that the employees in RCOM were unaware of complete policies to a
great extent since it was too technical &long, time-consuming that people generally
avoid reading by just a look so they were unaware of the policy coverage and scope
&werenot practicing the process properly. So, this study mainly focuses on to make
policies in a simple & lucid manner so as to make employees aware of how these
policies work and what do they do in order to achieve them & who all are eligible for
them. As a result of the existing unawareness, policies are designed in a crispier way
which is self-explanatory for the employees to understand and various communication
strategies have been designed to increase the awareness among the employees.

INTRODUCTION:
Policy making is concerned with the formulation of general statements or
understandings that guide or channel managerial decisions. Policies, whether
written or implied, are essential components of a company's planning framework
because they simplify the making of recurring decisions and facilitate the
delegation of these decisions. Successive delegations tend to result in a hierarchy
of policies within traditional organizations. In organizations
where empowerment is practiced, the principal function of policies is to provide
essential limits to otherwise broad employee discretion.

Conversely, in the empowered organization, there would be the potential for

complete lack of control and chaos. Yet, in today's fast-moving business world
there is also the great danger of policies becoming rapidly outmoded. For this
reason, audits, and ongoing reviews are a must if a company's policies are to
remain effective decision guides.

To sustain and retain employee workforce, many companies offer a wide range of
benefits to the employees to retain them in the organisation. Apart from
compensation and the brand name of the company, the benefits provided by the
organisation lures the employees to join the organisation. Some of the benefits
provided usually by many companies are Travel allowance, Meal allowance, Long
service leave, Holiday pay, Leave Encashment, Gratuity, Provident Fund, Maternity
benefits etc. Some of the policies areTALENT ACQUISITION

COMPANY ANALYSIS - Swot Analysis

Strong

Strengths
Superior 850 Mhz spectrum.
Jio tieup
Cheap tariffs

Opportunities

Weaknesses
Intense competition
Existing network issues

Gain the change in trends in 4G.

Better tieups

Threats
TRAI regulations
Mountain of Debts
Early bird opportunity

Strengths

RCOM is known for its cheap and affordable tariffs.

MNP benefits which are unbeatable and proven to be market leader.

A superior 850 MHz spectrum advantage over the Airtels 900 MHz spectrum for better
coverage and faster data download speeds.

Tie up with the Reliance Jio which has already setup a huge network of BTS stations, which
cover every corner of the Metro cities.

The slow penetration of 4G in the market, ensured that the market is not eaten up by the early
mover advantage by the competitors.

Weaknesses

RCOM is not having the first mover advantage of the 4G in the market.

With the already existing name of being a poor mans network, it may not please the already
existing customers to port to its network.

Its existing network is very poor.

Most of the CDMA customers, who are senior citizens who do not use 4G and use only CDMA
compatible feature phones are likely not to switch to the GSM network, which is famed to be
very patchy.

Opportunities

The change in trends for 4G in India is not as fast as expected, and thus the competition is
already facing losses. Hence RCOM has the opportunity to tap the slow changing market to
gain the new customer base.

JIO tie up should be pan India, and should provide the 4G service at affordable rates to the
market.

If the acquisition of Aircel happens, it should aggressively position itself as the premium
service provider rather than the poor mans network.

Should continue to provide the better MNP benefits even for the 4G customers to gain the more
market.

Threats

TRAI regulations are in place for the acquisition to takes place.

Sharing of spectrum will come under scanner as it may form the cartel to gain more customers.

Prices cannot be reduced than a minimum, as it has regulations and Huge operating costs to
take care for.
