You have tasks to complete throughout the unit.
NEO will have a schedule for IR days and other
odd days.

BASIC BOOK CLUB LOGISTICS


April 25 - the day you will have finished reading
your book.
First book club meeting:
Plan and agree upon a reading schedule
Select roles for ALL upcoming meetings (at the
end of the first meeting, you should have
EVERYTHING scheduled)

MORE BASIC BOOK CLUB LOGISTICS


This is a group effort: Make sure you do your share of
the reading and work.
If someone does not do their task for a meeting, your
group must do it together in class.
These meetings should take 40-45 minutes. You
should not finish early.
If you do, it is the Discussion Directors job to see if
you missed anything. You can also look for vocab.
and literary devices.

RESPONSIBILITY AND CREDIT IN BOOK CLUB


If you do not complete your task, you will not
receive points for the day and will have to write
Miss Johnson an elaborate 1 (full) page creative
narrative explaining why you did not come ready
to participate.
You will have a chance to grade your peers.

SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES AND PROJECTS FOR BOOK CLUB


Absences: If you are not in class, please send your
part of the work to a friend or someone in your
group.
Project: You will have a portfolio to complete
outside of class as a group. You will be presenting
these at the end of the unit.
Essay: There will be an in class essay to cap off
the unit.
