On the way back, she met her two
children. They politely asked her if they
could play with the kitten. She refused
for fear that they might hurt it. When
she reached home, she laid it down

how they can play with the kitten?
How did Mrs. Pott take care of the kitten?
Story
Time
It was not long before the kitten was well
again. Then, suddenly, it disappeared into the
forest. Some days later, Mrs. Pott went once
more into the forest to collect wood. As she was
on her way back with her load, she met a dwarf
standing where the kitten had lain. The dwarf
approached Mrs. Pott and threw a pair of knitting
needles into her apron. Then without saying a
word, he vanished without a trace. Mrs. Pott took
the needles home and laid them on the table.
The next morning, much to her amazement, a
fine, new pair of socks lay on the table.

Time
Every night, the knitting needles
would knit a pair of socks. Soon, Mrs.
Pott had enough to start a little shall at
the market to sell her socks. She did
not have to work so hard again. From
then on, she had a comfortable life as
she had everything she needed in her
little cottage.
How were the knitting needles a reward
to Mrs. Pott?
