There is different kind of rites of passage, but in some cultures these
rites of passage are in danger of extinction
6. SUMMARY:
Is about a rite of passage that take place in Mexico wich is a coming-of-age
ritual, in this ritual the girls have to test her endurance , strength and
character that will made them women during 4 days. The family has to
prepare during a year to celebrate this important event, before these
girls celebrate the important day, they listened histories from their
families. When the important day arrives they must be dusted with
pollen, after this they have to start run 4 times around a basket,
representing the 4 stages of their life. Then they have to go to a
mountain where they have to dance during 10 hours to prove their
endurance. After they finished with this ritual, they are considered
women.
7. PERSONAL VIEW POINT:
I strongly believe that this kind of rituals are good because they are
different to the others that we learned on the class , I mean that
nobody got hurt . Its true that they have to dance during 10 hours , but
i love dance , for me could be ok .
