Social Studies:
For Social Studies we wrapped up our Explorers and First Contact unit with a
test and the culminating Menu Board project. We will begin learning about New
France and current First Nations affairs for the month of June, Insha Allah.
Mathematics:
In math, students completed Unit 6 Measurement. In this unit, students learned about
time, volume, mass, and temperature. We also
used the I-Pad to play games which the students
enjoyed. In June, we will be learning Grade 6
material, so that students have a taste of what
they will be learning next year, Insha Allah.

Special Events!
Masha Allah, May was a fun-filled month! We had many snacks and treats, including, a hot dog lunch, monthly pizza lunch, as well as Nusaybahs and Aliyahs pizza
lunches for the class. We also had our field trip to the Trec Energy Festival
which involved students in several exciting hands-on activities. We also had the
Jump Rope for Heart Kick off Assembly, in which students wore red. The Gr. 5
baseball and dodgeball tournaments were a lot of fun! IFS Carnival was a blast,
despite the weather!
Finally, the Social Studies Bazaar was a huge success! In the student-led event,
various games and activities were organized. Money raised was given to Syrian
Refugees and spent on the final trip to Ezone. Our Ezone trip was also a lot fun!
