begun(10).ElieWieselisasurvivoroftheHolocausthewroteamemoircalled
Night.Night
is
abouthislifeasateenagedJewishboywholivedinTransylvaniainasmalltowncalledSighet.
Heandhisfamily,andthepeopleinhistownweretakenbyGermanpolice,andwereplacedina
concentrationcamp.Hewasthenseparatedfromhismotherandhislittlesisterandputintoa
groupwithhisfather,whothenbecamethemaincharactersinthebookElietalksabouthis
journeyofsurvival,andshowsthewilltosurviveisnotachoicebutabattle.
AnexampleofthisiswhenEliesdadalmostdiesintherain.Throwoutallthedead!

step.Justafewmoremetersanditwillbeover.Illfall.AsmallredflameAshotDeath
envelopedme,itsuffocatedme(82&86).ThisshowsthatEliedidntgiveup,hewas

optimistic.Heknewhecoulddoit,hebelievedthathecouldkeepgoingevenwithawounded
foot.Eliewasbattlingdeathbythechoiceshemade.
