Warm-Up Lesson Plan Assignment
Goal: To have children preform a vocal l warm up do get them ready for
the rest of the class. This song also has a lot of potential to become a
physical warm-up as well with the addition of actions.
Evidence: I will watch and listen to the students sing the song. I will
listen and make sure the students are grasping the fast rhythms and
singing the pitches accurately.
Name of Songs: Chicken on the Fence Post
Grade Level: Grade 2 or 3. This song will help the students grasp the
concept of ti-ka-ti-ka.
What I will do:
1. Introduce the song.
2. Rote say the words of the
song in a call and response
form until the students have
a solid understanding of the
words.
3. Sing the melody of the song
to the students again.
4. Sing the song in a call and
response form so the
students can learn the
melody. Ex) A, B, A, C form
5. Sing the song through with
the students
