Robert has been elected as the representative for the London region. He and Maria, the assistant representative, will co-chair their meetings. Robert is looking forward to his new role.
The three big issues Robert has identified are: developing new easy-read rules for personal assistants based on feedback from the last regional forum meeting; a lack of co-production in care planning as only one borough had involved representatives in developing their transforming care plans; and a successful joint transforming care event held on May 19th co-chaired by Carrie Ann and Tina, with a report on the way.

Learning Disability Programme Board about? What is going well?
Robert has been elected at the rep for the London
Region. Maria is the assistant rep so she will co chair our meetings in London. She will come to the National Forum if I cannot make it. We had a postal vote so that as many people as possible could vote. All the candidates put a film on the internet to show their skills and help people decide who to vote for. I am looking forward to doing the job.
What are your 3 big issues?
I am new to the job. I was elected on the 18th May. But I
think the 3 big issues are: 1.Rules for Personal Assistants at the last London Regional Forum meeting, in March, we looked at some rules for PAs and everyone said what they thought of them. Me, Maria and Carrie Ann are going to look at what everyone said and write some new easy read rules. 2.Transforming Care Plans at the London Forum meeting in March we asked who had seen the plan for their area. Reps from only 1 borough had seen the plan. This is not Co Production (not working together). 3.Transforming Care Event we held an event on the 19th May to talk about Transforming Care. It was a joint event for people with a learning disability from London and the South East and family carers from London and the South East. Carrie Ann and Tina co chaired. The event went well. The report will be ready soon. Other news:
