Dear Ms. Stevens:
Thank you for your thoughtful letter stating the Upper Monroe Neighborhood Associations
opposition to Rochester Managements proposed development at 645 Norris Drive.
I too share the concerns you have raised. I do not believe the scale and scope of the project
as designed are appropriate for this site. I have instructed Neighborhood and Business
Development Commissioner Bay Muhammad to ask Rochester Management to submit a
new design. I have also recommended that Rochester Management develop the new design
in consultation with community stakeholders, including UMNA, to garner the communitys
support before it is submitted.
Thank you again for your advocacy on behalf of your neighborhood. I am proud to work with
such dedicated citizens as we work together to create more jobs, safer, more vibrant
neighborhoods and better educational opportunities for our citizens. I look forward to working
with you on this and other projects as we move forward.
