Part II: Reflection

CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
I have learned so much throughout this course on how to be a more effective technology
teacher and mentor. This course helped me to increase the level of technology integration in
my classroom and to create lessons that are engaging and technology centered in my
classroom. The LoTi levels helped me to become more cognizant of the lessons I was creating
for my students as well as help my peers to create technology integrated lessons that were
high LoTi levels. I was also able to mentor teachers on my team on how to use the LoTi chart
and to apply it to their lesson planning. The engaged learning indicators were extremely
useful as well in the lesson plan process and helping me to create lessons for my students that
were intentional and technology focused while still being student centered. At the beginning
of this course I was somewhat timid on my technology integration in the classroom because I
was not very comfortable in my personal knowledge and use of technology. This course has
helped me break out of my comfort zone and be introduced to so many different types of
resources that I can use in my classroom. The collaboration with other colleagues in this
course has also been extremely helpful. It is always nice to hear about what other people are
doing in their classrooms because it could be something wonderful that I could do as well. I
have been able to add so many new tricks and tools to my teaching throughout my time in
this course.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
Throughout this project I was able to incorporate my knowledge of the Technology
standards and apply them to the teaching and learning process. I used strategic planning to
design, implement and evaluate the lesson used for this project. I also incorporated authentic
learning by facilitating the use of digital tools to engage students throughout the completion
of this project. I incorporated differentiation by allowing the students to make choices for
their projects and grouping them based on interest and ability.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?
This project positively enhanced the students knowledge and level of comfort on the use of
digital tools in the classrooms. My students were excited each time that we met to complete
this project and were engaged in the process while completing it. They were actively engaged
throughout this project, asking questions and sharing with their classmates in their research.
Other teachers were also curious in this project and I was able to facilitate and model this
lesson with my students in a professional development for my grade level. They were able to
see how to use QR codes, iPads and create screencasts with students and implement it based
on the LoTi and Engaged Learning Indicators.
