Topic: Muscle Fibers

cardiac and striated muscle

Demo- Have 2 students, one
do curls with text book
(isotonic) and the other old the
text book out with extended
arm. Which is harder? Why?

o Isometric (meaning same distance or
not moving) carrying something
o Isokinetic (meaning same speed) contractions produce movements of a
constant speed.
o Muscle Fiber Spaghetti Activity
o Point student attention to worksheet, give
detailed instructions and provide a
demonstration of one bundle.
o All students must participate, emphasize
team work to finish in the time allotted.
o All questions must be completed for
homework.
Conclusion: (2 min)
Bundle all of the muscle fiber bundles
together and present the class muscle
Review each structure from myofibrils to the
whole muscle
Homework:
Students must finish questions on handout, to
go over in class tomorrow.
