4 Engage diversity and difference in practice

SW3110 , Diversity, Oppression, and Social Justice, required a paper,
Personal Work Plan, that had the students look into their own competence in
regard to different cultures. This paper asked for a self-assessment to assess
our cultural competence. During the assessment I struggled with the fact
that I am not culturally competent and it forced me to take extra measure to
learn and become competent in other cultures.
This paper allowed me to grow as a social worker. I am now able to
recognize different cultures and I am able to identify many parts of the
culture itself.
