My first example of print media was done as an assignment in my marketing class at Cal

State Fullerton. I created a SWOT analysis for my makeshift company called SoCar,
which would be a solar powered car with headquarters in SoCal. Below is the market
summary:
SoCars consumer market consists of drivers who prefer saving gas and electricity on
their motor vehicles. Segments being targeted during the first year would be the
millennial generation. There are 3 models of the SoCar. The first model would be geared
towards the younger college graduate generation, the second towards the middle class
and the third towards the higher class. The projected number of households in America
having solar paneling by the end of 2016 is over 1 million. Introducing power provided
by solar paneling in the car industry is the next phenomenon of this generation.
Los Angeles California receives an average of 5.5 sunlight hours per day.

Below is SoCars SWOT Analysis:


SoCar has many powerful strengths to build on including new and innovative ideas, but
our weakness is being a new name in a largely competitive industry. The major
opportunity is a growing demand for hybrid cars. Being made in America, which holds
the fastest growing electric car market, we face the threat of upcoming competition.
Strengths Socar can build on our strengths:
1. Innovative product. Socar is the first solar paneled car on the market. There are
SoCar package options with duel electric and solar panel capability.
2. Efficiency. SoCar does not consume any gasoline and relies on free renewable
energy or electricity.
3. Reliability. SoCar provides an enhanced warranty in comparison to the current
market.

Weaknesses
1. New to the Market. Being the newest car company on the market, SoCar is up
against competition and marketing to clientele from current Hybrid models as
well as enticing new buyers.
2. New technology. Though SoCar is perfecting their brand, the new technology that
is put into this new product is not something buyers are fully aware of or familiar
with.
Opportunities
1. New market. As of now, SoCar has a head start on developing in the solar
powered car market.
2. Booming market. Both renewable resources, as well as the electric car market are
currently growing exponentially in the U.S.
3. Diversification. SoCar plans on diversifying their market to target all
demographics in the U.S.
Threats
1. Rising competition. It is a possibility that established car companies will
manufacture a car similar to SoCar and cut into our newly developed market.
2. New technology.

makeshift company and directed to take on the role of a general manager writing a news

Two Luxury Scottish-Crafted Catamaran Ships Launching Soon


Chicago, June 16, 2016- The Lake Michigan Twilight Cruise Company plans to
launch The Morning Star and The Comet by the second week of May, this upcoming
spring. The newest additions to its successful dinner cruise boat fleet are currently being

built in sections at Beth-O-Blarney Iron Works in Doublemill, Scotland. The sections will
be flown into Gary, Indiana aboard a specially-equipped 747 jet and then re-assembled in
before launch.
The Morning Star and The Comet are expected to cost the company $3.2 million.
Each of the ships has a capacity of 185 passengers and a crew of 5. Their current ships,
Twilight and The Star Gazer, are Yacht class cruisers with capacitys of 120 passengers
and crew of 6. With the new Catamaran ships, the company expects to double its
reported 45,0000 passenger count, along with its $1.69 million gross revenues from last
years season.
12-year-long successfully ran dinner cruise boats will continue to sail from
Chicago to cruise atop Lake Michigan between early June through the end of October and
provide brunch, dinner, and late-night glamorous cocktail cruises.

My third example of print media was done as an assignment for my public relations
writing class at Cal State Fullerton. The directions were to write a public service
announcement radio script to civilians of a makeshift city. The objective of the
announcement was to inform the civilians that their home furnaces could be inspected for
free by the citys fire department. Below is the PSA:
