VENT LOCATION

When exiting through walls, make sure NFPA rules are followed for distance from windows and openings.

NOTE:
The termination cap will be HOT during operation. Consider it’s proximity to doors or other traffic areas.

Note: Areas in red are not acceptable

Follow the below listed NFPA rule (10.7.1) for distance of vent cap from windows and openings:

· Not less than 1 ft. (.3 m) from any forced air inlet (I).
· Not less than 1 ft. (.3 m) above grade. Non-combustible ground cover shall be placed below the vent if less
than 3 ft. (.91m) above grade.
· Not less than 1 ft. (.3m) from any door (D), window (W) or gravity air inlet into any building.
· Not less than 2 ft. (.6m) from an adjacent building and not less than 7 ft. (2.1m) above grade when located
adjacent to public walkways / paths (P).
NOTE: A deck may be considered to be a walk way - check with local building codes.
· Not within 3 ft. (.9m) of a gas service regulator vent outlet (G) (IMC 804.3.4).
· Not above a gas meter/regulator within 3 ft. (.9m) horizontally of the vertical center line of the regulator (G).

· Not less than 3 ft. (.9m) below overhang (i.e. roof )
NOTE: The vent should not be located under a deck due to the exhaust gasses.
