I was in a third grade classroom this year the teacher had the
students participate in a solar system project. Each student picked a
planet and wrote a paper on the planet. Then the teacher had the
students find a person in the class who had the same planet create a
presentation with facts about the planet and pictures. Once the pair
had finished creating the presentation they presented the project with
the class. This project integrated science and literacy. The students
worked on their writing skills, reading skills and speaking skills while
learning new content about different planets.
