Narration
Today, I will be showing you how to create a profile and use
the features on ClassDojo. ClassDojo is a website that was
created to help teachers monitor behavior within their
classroom.
From the Desktop, select an internet browser. I will be using
FireFox.
Click on the url bar and type. www.classdojo.com
Now that we are on the ClassDojo Page, we must create a
profile. First click the signup tab.
There are four different types of profiles to choose from.
Teacher, Parent, Student, and School Leader. We are going
to choose Teacher for this presentation.
Fill Out the Information in the boxes. When you have
finished, click sign up.
On this tab you can add your school. Type in your school
name and select your school. Once selected click request to
join school.
Now that we have logged in, we have been brought to the
Class Dojo homepage. In order to use ClassDojo, we must
first add a class. Click on the Add a Class Tab.
Here you will type in your class name and class grade, then
click add class.
Here we will type in the names of each student. If you have
the names saved on an Excel Spreadsheet or in Microsoft
Word you can import them by clicking on one of these tabs.
I will physically type in a couple of student's names and
click "done adding students."
Now I am given the opportunity to invite parents and
students to join the class. This will allow parents to see the
progress and monitor the student in the classroom. Click
Next.
Clicked Next a download should have popped up. If it did
not I will soon show you where to download the invitations
to send home to parents. These invitations can be printed off
and sent home. They have specific codes for the parents to
use to connect to the class.
Click Next
Here we have the opportunity to edit the behavior tasks we
will monitor. For this presentation we will use the default
Positive tabs. Click on the Needs Work Tab.
Here you will see various negative behaviors. You can click
add skill to create your own.
On this tab you will type in the name of the behavior and the
point value you would like to use. Click Save and the Finish.
This is your class homepage. This is the screen you will see
when the program is in use. During the class if the student
performs a behavior, the teacher simply clicks on the child's
name and selects the characteristic. A banner pops up and
the teacher does not even have to stop talking. If a student
performs a negative behavior the teacher clicks the name,

selects needs work, and a banner pops up showing points

have been taken away.
The teacher can also divide the students into groups by
selecting the groups tab.
Click add your first group. Here the teacher can name the
group and select the students to join each group. Points will
be rewarded to students based on their group. Click cancel.
Teachers can use the class story tab to keep in touch with
parents. On this page teachers can update what is going on
in the classroom and view the percentage of parents who are
connected.
In the Messages page, teachers can send messages to parents
who connected.
Back on the classroom homepage teachers can review a
report. This report shows classroom behavior as well as
individual behavior. These reports can be viewed as a
spreadsheet and printed off to be sent home.
Thank you for your time and hope you enjoyed my
presentation of ClassDojo.
