Groundhog day is a film about weatherman named Phil who lives the

same day over and over again and he's only person who knows this is
happening. Actor Bill Murray plays Phil.
Phil was sent to a field work job to a little town called Punxsutawney
which is famous for his groundhog who can predict and of the winter. Every
year on February 2. groundhog is awakend from his slumbers and comes out
to see if he can see his shadow. If he can there will be another siy weeks of
winter. This festival is know as "Groundhog day festival". Phil thinks that this
is a silly event.
At 6 a.m. Phil wakes up on February 2. in Punxsutawney. "I Got You
Babe" by Sonny and Cher plays on the radio. He dress up, drinks his coffe and
on his way to the place where festival is holding he meets old vlassmate who
now sells insurance, then stepps into a puddle, he's rude to his colleagues
Rita and Larry, insults viewers, and by the end of the day all he wants is to
get out of town. But instead he wakes up by the same song, in the same bed,
and then he realizes that he's experiencing same day as the day before,
People talking the same lines unless he changes that lines through
conversation, butthe next day they forget that and use the same sentences
as the first day. He's going through emotions like despair and bitterness, but
in the end he learns to love himself and wants to become a good man.
Repeating day giver Phil sort of and advantage because he's the only
person who remembers what happend yesterday. He uses that advantage to
impress his producer Rita (played by Andie MacDowell), and he keeps on
trying and trying when finally she likes him.
Movie is a comedy but we see Phil's transformation to a better person.
He had dark period whe he tried to kill himself, but then he realized that no
metter what he do, the same day will come. Instead of tying to kill himself he
begins to learn to be a better person. In one scene Phil tells Rita. "When you
stand in the snow, you look like an angel." On this point he fell in love with
Rita.
