Materials
White Construction Paper about the size of computer paper 8x11
Small flags
Blue and Red Paint
Brushes
Appropriate Age group Preschool 3s
Beginning of Activity
Opening Statement/Introduction of Activity
See if anyone has been to a parade before. See if any students know what we wave at parades.
Show them the small flags. Tell them they are going to be making a flag at center time. Show
them an example of one.
Middle of Activity
Your ideas for scaffolding children at different developmental levels
Early: Helping students stamp their hand on the white paper. Having them make the red lines for
the flag. Guiding them were to put the lines.
Middle: Students should be able to stamp their hand on the white paper without assistance and
be able to make red lines on the paper
Later: Students should ne able to paint their hand and stamp it on the paper without assistance
and be able to make red lines on the paper representing stripes on the flag.

End of Activity Having them clean up and getting ready for another activity
