2005-12 Sig Agenda
The purpose of the special interest group (SIG) is to allow transportation practitioners in the
region to:
• Learn the full range capabilities of ESRI technology to support various kinds of
transportation analysis
• Learn advanced techniques and approaches
• Share and exchange experience in the region using ESRI tools to enhance transportation
analysis (GIS-T).
The meeting should be of interest to both beginners and more advanced users undertaking
transportation-related analysis in State Departments of Transportation, MPO’s, transit agencies,
cities and townships, turnpikes and other public agencies, as well as those in the private sector
undertaking for example delivery, logistics and other transportation operations.
These purposes will be achieved through presentation of tutorials and best practices that will
hopefully be of interest to both the new transportation analyst as well as the

two or three times a year, and geared to topics generated by users.
Dr. Simon Lewis will act as convener of the group for the first year. Subsequently, a small
committee will be formed to help run the event.
Lunch will be provided. Registration for the first meeting will be free.
