CONSTRUCTIVE APPROACH V\S BEHAVIOURISM APPROACH

 Yes , constructivism approach is better than behaviourism approach


because:
 It is learner centred.
 The educator helps arrange required resources and acts as a
facilitator while learners set their own goals.
 It encourages group work.
 Active engagement of learners using approaches like talking,
writing and interaction.
 Learners unlock reality for themselves.
 Whereas behaviourism approach is teacher centred.
 The teacher sets the goal and delivers most of the instruction.

 Constructivism approach is feasible because learners are given


opportunity to handle the content and to discover for themselves.
 Constructivism approach is applied in my teaching and learning
situation as I have asked my grade 10 learners to divide themselves
into five groups of six.
 I give my learners work, i walk around monitoring and allow
allowing them to wonder, seek and find find solutions because they
have shown improvement on gaining more insight and experience in
finding solution solutions to the problem problems.
