2009 Druid’s Fluid Pink

For the 2009 vintage, we opted to reinvent our traditional Rose offering,
Jeanie in the Bottle. Our popular blend was slightly adjusted to be a drier
version of its predecessor and re-released as the third installment to our
new Druid’s Fluid Family.

Grape Variety/Origination: 40% Cabernet Sauvignon Ï Troon and Ironbird Vineyard
30% Merlot Ï Layne and Elaine Vineyard
30% Mixed draw downs of Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet
Sauvignon and others Ï Applegate Valley

Despite a late spring, good growing conditions persisted


Growing Conditions:
throughout the year, culminating in a warm September
and mild October. The conditions were good for most lots,
allowing for slow, even ripening.

Winemaker Comments: In order to distinguish this luscious offering from our popular
Jeanie in the Bottle Rose, and to widen its appeal, we
dried the wine out. The blend was fermented down to
1.5% residual sugar, resulting in a fruit forward, nuanced
and balanced wine.

The bright pink shade of this wine invites a sip. Aromas of


Tasting Comments: cherry, strawberry and watermelon translate into wonderful
juicy qualities on the tongue. Serve ice cold; this wine is a
great accompaniment to any number of spicy dishes.

Alcohol: 12.70%
Method: Crushed to press and cold
settled; 25% was soaked for 24 hours. Brix: 23.0-24.6
Temperature: 40 - 50F pH: 3.18
Malolactic: None r.s. (g/L): 1.5%
Total Acidity (g/L): 6.8
