Spring is
here!
Spring is here that and means that
SOL testing is right around the
corner! The testing period will begin
the week of May 17th. Our teachers
have been working hard all year to
prepare students for the test. Your
childs teacher will have sent home a
Study Guide with relevant
information. Please take the time to
review this information and be sure
your that your child feels comfortable
with the information as well.

HELPFUL HINTS FOR SOL WEEK

Though the SOL test is very
important, it is also important that
our students do not get anxious and
overwhelmed. Please make sure that
your child gets a good nights rest
before the test. Make sure they
understand what information and
skills they will need to be familiar
with. Also, be sure to feed your child
a healthy, balanced breakfast!

Dear Parents,
As another school year draws to a
close, I have had the opportunity to
observe so really great things this
year! April was School Reading
Month and it was excellent to see
so many students so excited about
reading! Also, we held our Science
Fair in April, with much
participation from students in all
grade levels. Field Day was held on
April 24th and that was a fun day
for all! As we approach the SOL
Testing period, please help your
children to feel prepared for the
test!

This year marked our 12th Annual Field

24th. Students of all grades
competed during this fun day in the
sun!

Students competed against other

students in their grade level. We
enjoyed games such as kickball,
obstacle course, three-legged races,
water balloon toss, dont drop the
egg, and other exciting events. The
day concluded with a school-wide
tug of war championship, in which
the fourth grades claimed victory. Students competed against other
students in their grade
This day could not have happened
without all of our wonderful
volunteers. We had over 100 parent
volunteers, which is outstanding!
