Motor Vehicle Theft


May 2010

Activity Summary:
There were three (3) motor vehicle theft reports in May, 2010. There were three (3) motor vehicle theft
reports during the same time frame in 2009. There is no percentage change from 2009 to 2010.
The incidents were reported in the B2, D1 and D2 reporting areas.
One (1) incident occurred at a residence, one (1) at a business and one (1) at a school.
The incidents were all discovered on a Tuesday.
Two (2) incidents are open for further investigation and one (1) has been closed cleared unfounded.

Historically, HPD has an average of 6 motor vehicle thefts during the month of May with a current threshold of
2 to 10. This May, we were within the threshold with 3 reported MV Thefts.

Forecast for June:


The average number of MV Thefts for the month of June is 6 plus or minus 3. By the end of June, there is a 68%
chance HPD will have received between 3 and 9 reported MV Thefts.
