falling, tumbling, plummeting
astounding how fast you can go
from twenty feet high
in the sky
to falling to the ground
no safety net to catch you
no one to pick you up on your feet
brush off the dirt, clean your cuts and bruises
and tell you everything will be okay
because now you’ve reached a stage
where everything isn’t going to be okay
not for a very long time
not after what he did,
to you, your heart, your soul
