GERMAN CHRISTMAS VISIT 2010

Dear Parent,

Once again we have a wonderful opportunity for your son/daughter to use their German/French
and see 3 countries in the process. You may have seen this Xmas trip offered by tour operators in
local papers - we are doing our own to keep the price to a minimum.

Using a local coach company we will depart from school around 5.00pm on the 2nd of December and
make our way to Dover and the ferry. We travel through Belgium and may make a stop at the
beautiful city of Bruges to take in the sights. From there we continue to Aachen on the border
with Germany, where we have a look round. Later we continue on to Cologne and book into our
accommodation (youth hostel - excellent standard) and take the students out for something to eat
and a first look at Cologne and the market. We spend most of the following day sightseeing and
visiting the spectacular Xmas market in Cologne- one of the best in Germany and there is also
swimming on offer. In the evening we will be going ice skating. On Sunday after breakfast we begin
our return journey. We aim to be back in Hyde late Sunday evening, 5th December.

The price is £130, dependant on fluctuation of euro, which includes 2 nights bed & breakfast in
Cologne, insurance and all travel costs. All students will need their own passport which will need to
be applied for in good time. The students will need spending money, some of which will be needed
for meals (lunch and dinner). The deposit will be £50 with the next £50 to be paid by September
and the final £30 by mid October. Of course you may pay the total amount immediately. If you
would like your son/daughter to participate please fill in the return slip and send back to me with
the deposit and copy of the information page of passport (if passport needs applying for, then as
soon as possible)
