According to a report by G. John Richards, Prosecuting Attorney of Lincoln County, the


following case was heard in the Circuit Court of Lincoln County before the Honorable Ben
Burkemper on June 22, 2010.

STATE OF MISSOURI VS. TIMOTHY GOLDEN

Timothy Golden, 21, of Elsberry, entered a plea of guilty to the Class C Felony of tampering in
the first degree, three counts of the Class D felony of property damage in the first degree and the
Class D felony of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. The defendant received a
sentence of five years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for the Class C Felony of
tampering and four years in the Missouri Department of Corrections for each Class D Felony to
be served concurrent. The Court followed the State’s recommendation. This sentence arose out
of the events of May 15, 2010, in the County of Lincoln, State of Missouri, the defendant
knowingly and without the consent of the owner unlawfully operated an automobile, to wit: a
1995 Maroon Volvo, VIN #YVIL5571X71228615 and the defendant knowingly damaged a
Chevy Cavalier located at 301 North 5th Street, which property was owned by Rebecca Albregts,
by striking it with another vehicle, and the damages to such property exceeded seven hundred
and fifty dollars, and the defendant knowingly damaged a 2003 Jeep Liberty located at 301 North
5th Street, which property was owned by Jason Albregts, by striking it with another vehicle, and
the damages to such property exceeded seven hundred and fifty dollars, and the defendant
knowingly damaged a wood fence and the yard, located at 301 North 5th Street, which property
was possessed by Jason Albregts, by striking the property with a vehicle, and the damages to
such property exceeded seven hundred and fifty dollars and the defendant, while operating a
motor vehicle on North 5th Street, at or near 301 North 5th Street, was party to an accident that
caused other persons to sustain property damage in excess of one thousand dollars, and the
defendant knew that such damage had occurred, and the defendant left the scene of the accident
without stopping and giving sufficient information by which the defendant could be readily
identified and located to such persons or to a police officer in the vicinity or to the nearest police
station or judicial officer.
