Sorry folks, not only did I accidentally delete the notes from the last meeting, but I arrived late
to this meeting and did not catch what everyone’s doing to stay in art this past month. Here are
the highlights of what I heard:

God created plants on the third day.

Pat Plunket continues to bring in his old subscriptions of art magazines and little trinkets he
thinks someone can use. Thanks, Pat! If anyone has other supplies or scraps that they don’t use
and think that maybe someone else can, bring them to the nest meeting.

Judging for the Lighter Than Air show will take place Monday morning at 8:30 am at the
clinic. This is an excellent opportunity to have a mini crash course in art. As the judge judges,
you can learn a lot about composition, color, technique. Join us if you can. Judging can take
several hours but if you can come for just a couple of hours or just to cover up all of the names
on the pieces and the tags, that would be great.

…and that’s all we’ll say about that!

We had a lively discussion about renaming some of the upcoming shows to have different
themes. While some thought it was just semantics, we did agree that by giving the shows
different names, it would breath a bit of fresh air into them. So here goes:

Just Say Cheese (September 10th – December 7th – Entries due August 27)
Long Shadows, The Winter Show (December 7th – March 8th – Entry due November 26th)
Cattails and Flowers (March 8th – June 7th – Entry due February 25th)
All Creatures (instead of “Lighter Than Air”) (June 7th – September 6th – Entry due May 27h)
Colorama (September 6th – December 6th – Entry due August 26th)

More completely out of context! ( Some funny things overheard at the meeting)

You must do a lot of Hunting!

What’s a geologist?
