Government Ecology gets online touch

On 28th October, 2009 Gujarat Ecology Commission, working for the
environment and the population reduction in the state, has launched
Geographical Information System (GIO) based web portal for updating
information regarding environmental protection towards the Gujarat people.

In all over India it is the first time commission of the country which has
launched such portal. Forecast and Environmental & Tribunal minister
Magubhai patel, who launch the portal, wrote on the site that the website
(www.gec.goc.in) consists of data of industrial pollution, urbanization,
degradation of land, water, biodiversity, costal and marine environment,
wetlands and energy.

“The web portal consist 300 maps and 2000 tables which provide important
information regarding the environmental passion of the Gujarat each and
every region.” ‘Parisar’, the magazine launch by the ecology commission can
be seen on the web portal.

In this way every one who interested in this field of ecology and geography
of the each and every part of the Gujarat can get easy and accessible
information on the one mouse click.
