Cool Connector: Homer's The Odyssey has helped set the blueprint for modern literature
and archetypal characters. Your challenge is to connect the text to current or past real
world events (WORLD), your personal experiences (SELF), or to other forms of
literature, music, art and/or media (TEXT) (Indicate the Book # ). Once you have shared
your connection to the text, each member of your group will also relate their own
connection to the book, although they may refer to a different passage.

Real World Connections (WORLD): Relate text to real situations.

In Books I-IV, we see Telemachus searching for news of his father. This
happens almost all the time in real life. We are always curious. We want to
know things that we don't know about. If one of our friends/family members
died, we would want to know what happened to him/her.
Personal Experiences (SELF): Relate text to real experiences
you’ve had.
My grandfather died when I was young. I didn't know what happened to him,
so I asked around. I was searching for news of my grandfather.
Literature and Media (TEXT): Relate text to other books, movies,
art, and media.
I can relate this text with the Harry Potter series. In Book III, Harry was
trying to find his godfather, Sirius. He was trying to find more information
about him.
