Volunteers from the community participated in the Great American Cleanup event at the River Center on April 19th. With a grant, they were able to purchase plants, mulch, and soil to recreate a hammock habitat. The volunteers spent the morning removing non-native plants and putting in new native plants and trees that will provide habitat and immerse visitors in a natural setting. Their work will benefit both the environment and people visiting the River Center.

Master Gardeners, green
thumbs, and non-gardeners alike participated in the Great American Cleanup on April 19. With a grant from Keep Palm Beach County Beautiful, we were able purchase plants, mulch, and soil to recreate a “hammock” at the River Center. These hard working individuals spent all visitors in a morning pulling out non-natives, natural trimming existing plants, and “hammock” putting in new native plants and setting as RIVER TIDINGS
