Purkinje fibers

•are located in the inner

ventricular walls of the heart

•is a unique end-organ

cardiac extension of the
Autonomic Nervous System.

• uniquely dedicated to
sympathetic electrical
depolarization of the right
and left atria and ventricles.
•also have the ability of
automaticity - they
generate action potentials
, but at a slower rate than
sinoatrial node and other
atrial ectopic pacemakers.
Coronary Artery
The right coronary artery branches into:

•Right marginal artery

is a large marginal branch which follows the
acute margin of the heart and supplies branches
to both surfaces of the right ventricle.

• Posterior descending artery

•is an artery running in the posterior
interventricular sulcus to the
apex of the heart where it meets with the
anterior interventricular artery.
The right coronary artery
supplies:
right atrium
right ventricle
bottom portion of both ventricles and
back of the septum
Left Main Coronary Artery (also
called the left main trunk)
The left main coronary artery branches
into :

Circumflex artery
is a branch of
the left main coronary artery after the
latter runs it's course in between the
aorta and the main pulmonary artery

Left Anterior Descending artery

The left coronary arteries supply:

Circumflex artery - supplies blood

to the left atrium, side and back of
the left ventricle
Left Anterior Descending artery
(LAD) - supplies the front and
bottom of the left ventricle and the
front of the septum
Atrioventricular node

is a part of
electrical control
system of the heart
that co-ordinates
heart rate. It
electrically
connects atrial and
ventricular
chambers.
AV node is an area of specialized tissue
between the atria and the ventricles of the
heart, specifically in the posteroinferior
region of the interatrial septum near the
opening of the coronary sinus, which
conducts the normal electrical impulse
from the atria to the ventricles

It is located at the center of Koch's

Triangle—a triangle enclosed by the
septal leaflet of the tricuspid valve, the
coronary sinus, and the membraneous
part of the interatrial septum.[
Bundle of His

known as the AV bundle or atrioventricular bundle

•transmits the electrical

impulses from the AV node
(located between the atria and
the ventricles) to the point of
the apex of the fascicular
branches.
•is a collection of heart muscle cells specialized
for electrical conduction
