SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY RELATIONSHIP

Evaluate the effectiveness and extent of the interaction between the


school and community it serves

In general, catholic educational institutions have been making a distinct contribution to


the total well-being of our country. Besides their religious task, they make a distinct and
important secular contribution. Pope John Paul II refers to the contribution when he says
that: it is called on to become an ever more effective instrument of cultural progress for
individuals as well as society. Included among its research activities, therefore, will be a
study of serious contemporary problems in areas such as the dignity of human life, the
promotion of justice for all, the quality of personal and family life, the protection of
nature, the search for peace and political stability, a more and just sharing in the
world’s resources, and a new economic and political order that will better serve a the
human community.

Furthermore, the charism of our founder, St. John Baptist De La Salle on human and
Christian education for the poor have considerably influenced the growth of the school’s
Social Action Programs. The program provides the school community opportunities to
know one’s social responsibility towards our fellowmen especially those who are the
disadvantaged in our society.
